The Electrocariogram is a common test which records the hearts electrical impulses. This indicates the hearts rhythm and may give information regarding a variety of underlying cardiac problems which may require further evaluation.
This test involves walking on a Treadmill whilst connected to an ECG machine. This test screens for the presence of significant Coronary artery disease, as well as identifying heart rhythm abnormalities occurring with exercise. This test requires you to walk on a treadmill to increase your heart rate. If you are unable to walk on a treadmill for any reason, please let us know beforehand so that an alternative test can be arranged.
In this test we use a dedicated cardiac ultrasound machine to record ultrasound images of the heart. This provides information about the structure and function of the heart and the valves within the heart. It does not assess the coronary arteries.
This test combines a routine stress ECG with an Echocardiogram and is a more reliable method of determining the presence of significant coronary artery disease. Ultrasound images of the heart are recorded at rest and again immediately after exercise. This test also requires you to walk on a treadmill to increase your heart rate. If you are unable to walk on a treadmill, please let us know beforehand so that an alternative test can be arranged.
